Intimate Places - Tanzania
Intimate Places Limited is a 'boutique' hotel management company which
is based in Northern Tanzania and is owned and operated by Marc &
Mia Lawson and Carl Salisbury (also owner of ZanAir).
Base of operations is Mount Meru Game Lodge & Sanctuary, a property nestled between the peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro and which lies midway between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha.
The Lodge is located within 33 acres of mature, well manicured gardens bounded on one side by the tranquil waters of the Usa River and on the other by the unique game sanctuary where our wildlife and birdlife reside. This wildlife and birdlife provide many of our guests with their first exciting game viewing experience.
The Lodge comprises 15 double or twin en-suite bedrooms and 2 suites. As you would expect in a property of this standard, the design and character of the rooms are as individualistic as the lodge itself.
'Intimate Places Camping' is a luxury mobile camping operation which is based at Mount Meru Game Lodge and which operates all over the Northern Tanzania Safari circuit. With spacious and comfortable accommodation set in special campsites booked exclusively for you, we are pleased to be able to offer you the ultimate Safari experience.
Whether for a couple looking for a romantic bush experience, a family wishing to share one of life’s truly unique experiences together or a group of friends wanting to take time out in your very own special space then we will be pleased to turn your dreams into reality.

Imvelo Safari Lodges - Zimbabwe
In 1994, the founders of Imvelo had a vision – with their shared passion
of the African Bush, its native wildlife, and people, they wanted to
create a destination that not only provided visitors to Zimbabwe with a
unique and unforgettable safari experience, but also a destination that
provided assistance and support to local communities.
At one time, indigenous rural communities received very little direct benefit from Zimbabwe’s booming tourism industry. For the majority of locals, tourists were nothing but camera-clad foreigners that drove around national parks in 4x4s. And as for ‘conservation’: a rich man’s joke! For the rural villager, wildlife was by no means an attraction; elephants ate their crops and lions killed their livestock.
The animals were problematic and not something to encourage. The hope was – that by building safari attractions and infrastructures within communal areas – a symbiotic relationship between holidaymakers and locals could grow.
This would, in turn, enable them to protect and preserve local wildlife, whilst imparting self-sustaining and lifelong methods of survival to the communities, and so Imvelo Safari Lodges was born. We currently have 2 lodges in our portfolio – Gorges Lodge in Victoria Falls, built on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, some 250 metres above the mighty Zambezi River and Bomani Tented Lodge, set in our 5000 acre private reserve on the edge of Hwange National Park. Our third lodge, Camelthorn, also in Hwange National Park, is currently under construction and is set to open early next year.
