Welcome to The Wetland Park Group, our collection of unique truly African encounters and experiences to satisfy your spirit of adventure and love of the great outdoors.

As well as offering complete packages in and around KwaZulu-Natal, we run Umkhumbi Lodge near Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, and Amangwane Camp and St Lucia Kayaking Safaris in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

Umkhumbi Lodge is a family-owned lodge with an atmospheric treetop bar and boma area, located in the game-rich Hluhluwe-Imfolozi area of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Umkhumbi is surrounded by wildlife reserves and the rich ecosystems and beaches of the UNESCO World Heritage iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Guests can choose from a wide range of activities or explore the rich culture of the Zulu nation with our community tours.

Our unique destination experience is Amangwane in the northernmost part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Solar-powered and with its own gravity-fed water tank, Amangwane is a joint community development venture and consists of 10 rustic reed en-suite chalets with both catered and self-catered packages. Conveniently located by the gate to the Kosi Bay Mouth on the Indian Ocean, it’s the perfect base for snorkelling, fishing and the beach.

We also operate St Lucia Kayak Safaris. Established in 1999, we are the only licensed operator to offer these exciting guided kayaking trips around the St Lucia Estuary in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, where hippos, crocodile and spectacular bird life are frequently sighted. We also offer trips to restricted areas such as Catalina Bay and snorkelling at Cape Vidal.

The Uganda Safari Company - Uganda

The Uganda Safari Company began its conservation efforts in 1992 in the Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve – an area that suffered badly from poachers during Uganda’s troubled years. Husband and wife team Jonathan and Pamela Wright have worked tirelessly to heal, reintroduce and preserve the diverse wildlife of this area. A key aspect of the conservation effort is promoting tourism.

With this in mind, the company established Wildplaces, low-impact, environmentally sensitive lodges were developed to provide further services and to aid continued preservation. A full-service safari company, TUSC, takes visitors on guided trips throughout Uganda. Itineraries are all tailor-made and vary in duration from three days to three weeks. Safari vehicles are specially designed for comfortable wildlife viewing, with plenty of leg room, large viewing hatches and fully trained guides, so that guests can enjoy a superior safari experience. Semliki Safari Lodge is situated in the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve in the heart of the Albertine Rift Valley.

The reserve is bordered by the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Albert. Semliki Wildlife Reserve is the oldest protected area in Uganda. It is unique and gifted with geographic barriers that have formed a natural haven for wildlife.
