Manyara Ranch Conservancy - Tanzania

The 35000 acre Manyara Ranch Conservancy is an exclusive concession area located within the wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Manyara National Parks. The Conservancy opened to visitors on the 1st of June 2010, providing a unique wilderness experience in the heart of Tanzania's northern circuit.

Accommodation is provided in a Traditional 6-tent East African Luxury Tented Camp and is supported by a wide choice of activities including horse riding, game walks, game drives, night drives, game viewing from hides, fly-camping, cultural exchanges with the Maasai and extensions to Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorongoro.

The Conservancy exists to protect the migration corridors that lie between Lake Natron, Ngorongoro, Manyara, Tarangire and the Maasailands to the South. There are several dams on the ranch that attract and retain wildlife throughout the year.

The resident wildlife population include groups of batchelor and family units of elephant, breeding herds of giraffe, many lesser kudu, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, oryx and eland. There are also predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal and bat-eared foxes.

The game population is continually being increased by wildlife moving through the migratory corridors. There is a large variety of species of birds including many raptors. Manyara Ranch has a variety of habitats, which include open savannah, acacia woodland, bush and riverine forest.
