Lew Rood, well known and respected personality within the local and international tourism industries, has launched his bespoke Hospitality and Tourism Consultancy. Trading under ‘Lew Rood,’ Lew will offer his specialist expertise and vast experience to companies and individuals within the broader field of travel, tourism and hospitality.

Having retired from Singita Game Reserves at the end of February 2012, the timing is opportune for Lew to embrace his lifelong passion for “all that is new, worthwhile and rewarding.” His consultancy will offer expert advice to inbound tour operators, hotels and the international travel trade specialising in Africa. Services will include relationship building and linking of key industry players in order to expand trade markets and year-round business opportunities, as well as the sourcing and introduction of new products and services for international buyers.

Widely regarded as the ‘ultimate concierge,’ Lew will also consult to the trade and media on current trends within the industry, such as new lodges, hotels, restaurants, galleries, shopping, wine estates, tourism facilities and services. In addition, he will offer a personalised travel and concierge service to discerning individual and corporate clientele.

His extensive professional and personal networks, coupled with his discerning eye, augers well for those who can now employ his services on a project basis. His frequent travels abroad, attendance at trade shows and calls on the travel industry worldwide provided Lew with further industry insight, whilst cementing lasting friendships in the travel trade and travel media.
