Kinondo Kwetu - Kenya

Kinondo Kwetu " home away from home". With room for no more than forty guests, you will always find your own private spot at Kinondo Kwetu. Which, needless to say, makes it a very special place for honeymooners. Like to read? Lie down on the beach with a book in the shade of a palm tree, or retire to the library or one of the living rooms.

Or gather your family and friends for drinks and a laugh on one of the terraces. Who knows, maybe you have come as a group to celebrate someone's birthday? Would you believe a Finnish sauna when you are only kilometres south of the equator? Yes, we have one. Every night towards sunset it is fired up. You can enjoy a massage and body treatment to the soothing sound of the Indian Ocean. And we will guide you to a "secret" serene spot on a cliff overlooking the sea where you can meditate and do your yoga.

Even the big pool is designed for tranquillity: not a hard rectangle but a giant three-leaf clover; swim the perimeter and you have covered a hundred metres. Does all this sound a bit slow-paced? Just wait, there are also lots of things to do for the more restless and active. Although Kinondo Kwetu is the ideal place for simply doing nothing at all, it offers exciting possibilities for all adventurers big and small. For starters, you have the Indian Ocean.

The vast East African reef is there for you to explore, be it scuba diving, snorkelling, or by boat. Try deep-sea fishing. Or learn kite boarding, an exhilarating and eco-friendly sport perfectly suited for the southern coast of Kenya. We have our own PADI centre, so if you are thinking of getting a diving certificate, do it at Kinondo Kwetu. Sailing enthusiast? Our small Kenyan outriggers will give you lots of fun.

Or come along on a cruise on one of our traditional dhows. We also arrange excursions along the coast to nearby islands and up a river looking for crocodiles. And if you want to see elephants, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, and other African animals in the wild, Shimba Hills National Park is only a short drive away. A visit to Kinondo village and a daytrip into Mombasa will give you the spectrum of life in Kenya. We gladly drive you to both places. Or maybe golf is your thing.

No problem, there is an 18-hole course only 15 minutes away. As is also Ukunda airstrip, from which you can fly on safari to any of Kenya's classic national parks. Or … the possibilities for not sitting still are also endless. Kinondo Kwetu " home away from home" also manage the Kinondo Kwetu Medical Clinic, Kinondo Kwetu School and the Kinondo Kwetu School Sponsorship programme.
