Kaya Mawa is blessed with probably the best lakeshore location in
Malawi with two private beaches. Eco-luxury accommodation built from
rocks straight from the lake shore, with each of the eight unique rooms
nestled into the boulders and having their own private deck over the
water and access to the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi. Kaya Mawa
has a further two family houses, leading directly on to the beach. In
2012 a new four bedroom villa minuts from the lodge was opened, fully
staffed and with all the benefits of the lodge.
Kaya Mawa has activities to suit everyone. A dive centre with PADI
instructors (the lake provides some of the best fresh water diving in
the world), quad bike tours, cycling, sailing, kayaking, walking,
waterskiing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, fishing, boat cruises or just
lazing by the lake. Likoma Island is steeped in history and culture with
one of the largest cathedrals in Southern Africa and famed for its male
and female dancing teams.
