African Horseback Safaris offers a unique and unparalleled experience to
the riding enthusiast. Established in 1995 by Sarah-Jane Gullick and is
now owner-run by John Sobey. Set in the western side of the delta in a
private concession area of over 500,000 acres the riding terrain from
camp is scenically varied in all directions.
With only 14 guests,
Macatoo camp offers comfortable en-suite accommodation in spacious meru
tents with decks overlooking breath taking views of the Okavango Delta.
Centrally there is a large furnished mess tent and tucked away a private
pool.
Macatoo combines luxury with a happy camp atmosphere and the
spirit of the Okavango wilderness, with its sheer beauty and diversity.
Riding alongside giraffe and amongst large herds of buffalo affords the
guest an opportunity to view game silently and intimately.
Itineraries
are flexible with a minimum stay of 3 nights and a recommended stay of
seven nights to take full advantage of the experience. We also welcome
non-riders who can enjoy the many activities on offer including game
drives, helicopter rides, bird walks, night drives, seasonal boating,
mekoro and fishing.
