Wolwedans Collection - Namibia

Once the hunting ground of the Spotted Hyena, Wolwedans takes its name from the African for "where the wolves dance". The very word conjures up an aura of mystery and romance which, when visiting Wolwedans, nature and the rhythm of the desert will evoke within you.

Nestled amidst the dunes in the heart of NamibRand Nature Reserve, and set against a backdrop of unparalleled beauty, Wolwedans provides the perfect base from which to explore vast stretches of awe-inspiring nature.

Across this diverse canvas of contrasting landscapes traverse an exciting variety of large and small desert creatures - as wild and ancient as their habitat. Our portfolio of camps provides ample opportunity to meet our guests` different expectations and preferred levels of comfort - be it the rustic Dune Camp, the more elaborate Dunes Lodge or the Wolwedans Private Camp. No matter where you opt to stay, warmth and personalised service - embraced by a commitment to care for guest and nature alike - are our hallmarks.

It is here, in this land of stretching blue skies, endless plains and countless creatures enacting nature`s savagely exciting passion play, that you will find beauty feeding your soul, tranquillity to clear your mind and space for your imagination to fly. Visit once, and you will long to return - that is a promise.

Wings Over The Wild - United Kingdom

Wings Over The Wild Ltd is the General Sales agent for: Mwagusi Safari Camp. Mwagusi Safari Camp is situated in the less frequently visited Ruaha National, Tanzania. Mwagusi is a well-established camp that was started in 1987 and is an expression of the unwavering love and passion of its owner Chris Fox.

Born and raised locally, Chris Fox is notorious for his profound knowledge and experience with the wildlife, people and the land of Ruaha. Mwagusi is a charming bush camp with a unique and naturally-inspired design, built and co-existing in harmony and balance with its environment.

It provides comfort with a hint of understated safari elegance whilst providing a true bush experience - sleeping in a canvas tent with distant lions roaring. The camp and its’ immediate surroundings are picturesque – 13 tented “bandas” snaking along the sandy banks of the Mwagusi River each with excellent views. Each spacious canvas tent rests under a cooling thatched roof with en-suite facilities and a verandah with cushioned seating area.

Each “banda” is built from local natural materials such as thatching grass, river reeds, stones, drift wood and animal skulls, horns and bones. Solar technology powers interior lighting and heats hot water within each tent.

The camp has originated from a “no-frills safari experience” where the wildlife and personally guided experience is paramount. Mwagusi is renowned for its high-calibre of local guides and their in-depth knowledge of the African bush. Local Tanzanians benefit from an in-house guide training programme aimed to provide top-class guides with excellent wildlife and bush knowledge.

Wilderness Safaris - South Africa

Wilderness Safaris is an ecotourism company dedicated to responsible tourism throughout the areas in which it operates in Africa. Our goal is to share these wild areas with guests from all over the world, while at the same time helping to ensure the future protection of Africa’s spectacular wildlife heritage and sharing the benefits of tourism with local communities.

We operate camps and safaris in nine different countries: Botswana, Congo (Brazzaville), Kenya, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Seychelles.

Our wildlife, marine and cultural safaris in remote and pristine wilderness destinations are specialised, educational, explorative, and fun. Camps and services are safe, authentic and insightful of guests’ needs.

The private concessions that we manage offer some of Africa’s most impressive and untouched wildlife experiences. We are privileged to operate on more than three million hectares (eight million acres) of Africa’s best wildlife and wilderness reserves. The idea of space to breathe – the wilderness experience – is a large part of what makes our operation unique and special.

Recognising that conservation is as much about people as about the environment, we have pursued important goals through our Children in the Wilderness programme, as well as through the Wilderness Wildlife Trust, which have helped change the face of nature-based tourism in southern Africa.

Wilderness Safaris firmly believes that its single most important achievement to date is to have built a sustainable business model that does not compromise environmental principles and which provides jobs, training, skills, careers, adjusted horizons, hope and a realistic alternative to less sustainable development.
Wilderness Safaris is part of the Wilderness organisation, a group of responsible ecotourism companies and conservation and community development vehicles that together endeavour to use responsible tourism to build sustainable conservation economies in Africa.

Wilderness Lodges - Kenya

Wilderness Lodges own and manage Keekorok Lodge in the Masai Mara, Samburu Game Lodge and Larsens Camp in the Samburu Game Reserve. Beginning in 2004 each property has undergone major renovations and refurbishments with the aim of restoring them to world class standards. Larsens Camp leads you on a silk-lined safari through northern Kenya’s savagely beautiful Samburu National Reserve, into a world of champagne breakfasts on the riverbank and sundowners overlooking the savanna.

Between the endless sweep of azure East African sky and the eternal horizon, amid thorny sun-scorched scrublands and lush rolling plains, next to craggy peaks and rippling rivers –you will discover Wilderness. Keekorok, the Masai Mara’s first ever lodge, stands on the site of a 1920s hunting camp, and is in the direct path of the spectacular annual migration. Keekorok combines contemporary African style and natural charm, with all the magic of the Mara. Keekorok’s location in the Masai Mara is ideal for game viewing all year round. In Kenya’s northern frontier lies one of the world’s richest wildlife reserves, Samburu Game Reserve. Located here and positioned on the Ewaso Nyiro River is the Samburu Game Lodge.

The Lodge offers a ruggedly romantic location to see leopard, lion, elephant and crocodile, as well as species exclusive to the region like the Grevy`s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, blue-legged Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, and the graceful Gerenuk. Bird –lovers, too, will be all a – twitter in Samburu with the abundance of hornbills, woodpeckers, pygmy falcons and the sacred Ibis.
