Great Plains Conservation - South Africa
The founding partners of Great Plains Dereck & Beverly Joubert, Mark
Read, and Paul Harris have come together with one main goal – to create
iconic, role model, sustainable conservation projects. These passionate
conservationists in their 50's pooled their wide ranging skills and
experience to create innovative, world-class conservation projects in a
number of diverse and threatened habitats throughout Africa, the Indian
Ocean and eventually in India.
The world's citizens must make a choice - "where to from here?". We believe there can only be one goal - saving some of the last great, iconic, and wild places of the world. This is the mission: to find the right formula between conservation, communities and commerce. Great Plains Conservation's model takes stressed and threatened environments, surrounds them with compassionate protection and intelligent management.
National Geographic Society have recognised the common ethos between their own work throughout the world and that of Great Plains Conservation and have become an investor into Great Plains, with the Joubert's launching the National Geographic Big Cat Initiative.

Camp Jabulani - South Africa
Camp Jabulani is a perfect translation of the African bush. An open-plan
dining room and lounge merge with the wooden deck which lies in the
shade of gigantic leadwood tree. An impressive hanging bridge connects
these living areas with the suites which flank the river bed.
Each of the six luxury suites is remote and private. Massive wooden sliding doors present interiors which are stylish and comfortable.
Massive stone tubs, an outdoor glass-enclosed shower, a fire-place with separate lounge area, and a private plunge pool complement each of the rooms. During the day the “walls” of the suites are rolled away to bring the bush just that bit closer.
The Zindoga Villa is Camp Jabulani’s most recent addition and is a palatial self-contained facility. It has been designed for guests who prefer the more exclusive touch, for smaller groups, or for families travelling with younger children.
Two individual units are connected by a lounge and dining area. Each unit has a spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom, expansive wooden deck and a private heated plunge pool. One of the units also has a charming twin room, with private bathroom for two children sharing.
Facilities include a Therapy Lapa and a Bush Gym. Guests are able to enjoy elephant-back safaris (with the only night safari in the world), game drives and visits to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. And the culinary experience is sublime!

Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse - South Africa
Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse is uniquely - and spectacularly - situated
on one of the largest wheat and sheep farms in South Africa’s beautiful
Western Cape region.
The Elandskloof mountains tower behind the farm's own Nature Reserve, a South African Natural Heritage Site which preserves 4000hectres of the Cape’s famous shrubland vegetation, known as West Coast Renosterveld.
The late Victorian farmhouse has been meticulously restored, and each room professionally and individually decorated with stylish fabrics and family antiques. The four double rooms have en-suite bathrooms with luxuriously deep ball-and-claw bathtubs, and are supplied with toiletries specially created for Bartholomeus Klip.
A separate suite looks out from its own verandah over the fynbos and up to the mountains. The warm welcome, friendly service and highly-praised food are part of the Bartholomeus Klip experience, with a team of chefs producing the gourmet meals.
However, self-catering is an option at the recently opened Wild Olive House, sited away from the main house, which has accommodation for groups of friends or families of up to eight.
The house has a leafy outdoor living area, private swimming pool and adjoining cottage, and is bright, charming and elegantly comfortable. Guests are taken on game drives twice daily through the reserve to see many different sorts of buck, including eland, springbok and black wildebeest, as well as zebras from the world-famous Quagga Project, and a great variety of wildflowers in the springtime.
The working farm has extensive wheatlands and large flocks of sheep, as well as an impressive 45-strong breeding herd of disease-free Cape buffalo. Apart from exploring the farm and the reserve, activities at Bartholomeus Klip include guided walks, mountain-biking, bird-watching, windsurfing on the dam, swimming in the salt-water pool with its marvellous views, and peacefully relaxing in the extensive gardens.

Asilia Africa - South Africa
Asilia Africa consists of a group of small, exclusive and original lodges and camps in Tanzania & Kenya: the permanent Sayari Camp at the Mara river, Olakira Camp (north and south), Dunia Camp in the south central Serengeti, Ubuntu Camp, Oliver’s Camp in Tarangire and Matemwe Lodge, Matemwe Retreat and Matemwe Beach House on Zanzibar island along with Rekero Camp and the exciting new Naboisho Camp in Kenya’s Masai Mara.
The latest addition is Rubondo Island Camp on Rubondo Island, Lake Victoria which opened on December 15th 2012. All lodges and camps that are part of Asilia have their own identity and characteristics, but share excellence in food and service and a vision of small scale, exclusive, authentic and responsible tourism.
We take pride in the variety of activities that we offer in our circuit: besides game drives, the camps offer fly camping, night drives, walking safaris and cultural experiences with Maasai in the unspoilt Piyaya and Naboisho areas. In Zanzibar enjoy snorkelling and diving or simply a relaxed laze on the beach.
