Africa each year, and all of our consultants are experts with at least 8
years experience of the region.

blown your holiday budget out of the water !We are always on the end of the phone or email to answer any questions or queries that you may have.
Our customers are extremely happy with our services – but don't just take our word for it, take a look at some of the recent comments we have received.

The Uganda Safari Company - Uganda
The Uganda Safari Company began its conservation efforts in 1992 in the
Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve – an area that suffered badly from
poachers during Uganda’s troubled years. Husband and wife team Jonathan
and Pamela Wright have worked tirelessly to heal, reintroduce and
preserve the diverse wildlife of this area. A key aspect of the
conservation effort is promoting tourism.
With this in mind, the company established Wildplaces, low-impact, environmentally sensitive lodges were developed to provide further services and to aid continued preservation. A full-service safari company, TUSC, takes visitors on guided trips throughout Uganda. Itineraries are all tailor-made and vary in duration from three days to three weeks. Safari vehicles are specially designed for comfortable wildlife viewing, with plenty of leg room, large viewing hatches and fully trained guides, so that guests can enjoy a superior safari experience. Semliki Safari Lodge is situated in the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve in the heart of the Albertine Rift Valley.
The reserve is bordered by the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Albert. Semliki Wildlife Reserve is the oldest protected area in Uganda. It is unique and gifted with geographic barriers that have formed a natural haven for wildlife. Apoka lodge over looks the Narus river valley in the South-western sector of Kidepo Valley National Park. In the far North-eastern section of Uganda, bordering Sudan to the North, the Napore Mountains to the West, and the Morungole Mountains to the South.
The Kenyan border is just 5 kilometers from the Park’s Eastern boundary. At the crossroads of Kenyan, Sudanese and Ugandan ecosystems, Kidepo provides an amazing wildlife experience in a remote and pristine wilderness. Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is situated in Nkuringo, bordering the South Western Corner of the Bwindi National Park , Situated at 2100M with Panorama Views of the Virunga mountain range and the Great Rift Valley. The Nkuringo Family group of Gorilla’s home range is around 1.5 hours hike from the lodge depending on the movement of the group. Bwindi Forest is rich in Biodiversity with over 26 Endemic Birds in the surrounding area of the lodge and over 560 other bird species.
Bulago Island with almost 10kms of shore line on 500acares, a small paradise away from the hustle of urban life. Surrounded by Lake Victoria its shoreline is made up of rocky outcrops and low cliffs. Around the shore the soil is highly fertile and tree covered. The north-east tip of the island contains a small portion of rainforest. The interior of the island is less fertile and is covered with savannah-like grassland.

It is home to hundreds of years of Swahili culture that has been perfectly preserved thanks to the remote and unspoilt location of the area. Comprising of only five beautiful and spacious Nyumbas, (the Swahili name for home), The Red Pepper House is perfectly integrated into its natural surroundings and covered by a Makuti thatched roof. Local artists and builders took part in the construction of the property using techniques passed down from their ancestors.
The main house is filled with Swahili art, one off colonial style pieces and antiques from all over the world. There are no walls throughout the main house allowing guests to enjoy views out to the beach and forest that surrounds. Service at The Red Pepper House goes above and beyond expectations. Having only five Nyumbas ensures that the staff have time to pander and attend to every need of their guests. This attention to detail is what puts The Red Pepper House in a league of its own and makes it stand out as the most exclusive hotel on Lamu Island.

The Italian Tourism Co - Sudan
Northern Sudan is one of Africa's most mysterious destinations. The Nile
river crosses the Sahara desert and along its valley there are very
interesting archaeological sites of Egyptian and Meroitic civilization
still unknown to the most.
There are more pyramids in Sudan than in Egypt. The Nubian desert, the Eastern part of the Sahara and the Nile Cataracts, are only some of Sudan's natural wonders. The Italian Tourism Co. Ltd., offers only the best itineraries, the best accommodations, the best organization. Our staff knows all the archaeological sites, the hidden Nubian villages, the nomads' settlements, the more spectacular desert landscapes.
We built two luxury properties located in the most interesting areas of Northern Sudan. At the foot of the Jebel Barkal in Karima, there is our NUBIAN REST HOUSE, a charming boutique hotel with 22 twin rooms (all with private facilities), a delicious restaurant and a pleasant veranda where to sit in the cool starry nights.
The rest house is tastefully decorated, starting from the original Nubian door where the guests enter the property, to the open air lobby, to the living room where to rest or read a book. MEROE CAMP has 22 twin bedded tents set on a concrete base all with private facilities. The room size is 4 x 4 mt. and inside there are also small bedside tables with a reading light, drawers and mirror; outside there is shady veranda with 2 chairs for reading or simply relaxing overlooking the open desert before the pyramids.

The Hide Safaris - Zimbabwe
The Hide Safaris, only 2 hours from Victoria Falls, is a luxury camp
located on the Eastern Boundary of Hwange National Park; it is one of
the few camps adjacent to the National Park itself. Unlike other camps
in the area, long drives from Camp to the Park are not necessary as we
are in reality, a part of the Park itself, and the wildlife migration on
our private concession is second to none. The Park boasts an abundance
of bird and wildlife, including the Big Five!
The Hide has 10 luxury East African Style Tents (all en-suite) under thatch, all with a private porch overlooking our waterhole usually heaving with game activity. Our Honeymoon suites have an additional outside bath where guests can relax in a bath and enjoy the stunning view over the waterhole. Game activities include game drives and walks, night drives, bush dinners and much more. We also cater for honeymooners and small weddings.
The hub of the Camp is our majestic “A” Frame which houses the dining room, lounge and teak deck overlooking the waterhole. Meals are either served al-fresco or around our magnificent 22-seater teak dining room table - our candlelit dinners are an experience to be treasured! Our plunge pool is located outside the “A” Frame, which also offers a magnificent view of the waterhole. After a long game drive or game walk on a hot day, cool down and relax with a chilled drink and observe the game coming to the waterhole. The Hide has been consistently voted “Best Tented Safari Camp in Zimbabwe” since 1995.

The Flying Doctors' Society of Africa - Kenya
The Flying Doctors’ Society of Africa (FDSA) is a premier fundraising
organization that was established in 1971 to raise funds to support the
work of AMREF Flying Doctors and AMREF Specialist Outreach. FDSA raises
funds through the sale of Membership to the Society, donations, sale of
branded items and fund raising activities / events. The founder or
AMREF, Sir Michael Wood, set up FDSA as a fund raising arm to support
the work of AMREF Specialist Outreach.
The money we raise also goes towards financing lifesaving charity evacuations in the region, as well as supporting corrective surgeries for Fistula, which affects millions of women in Africa. Since 1971, we have donated $12million towards the work of AMREF. Membership costs start at $15 per adult per year. With this membership, an individual is entitled to one free medical emergency evacuation during the year of their membership. Being a member gives you peace of mind since you are assured of a safe and prompt evacuation in case of any medical or accidental emergency while you are in East Africa to a hospital of your choice in Nairobi.
You will also have 24hrs access to the AMREF Flying Doctors Emergency Center for free medical advice. Becoming a member is also a way of giving back to Society. You may not require our emergency service during the duration of your membership, but your unutilized member subscription will help finance AMREFs Medical Outreach program.

talents, the Gabriels have diligently restored Hatari to its legendary
glory.
In 2004, they created a unique and sophisticated luxury lodge, in which every room has been personally designed and decorated to reflect the distinct style and history of Hatari. Here the idyllic setting goes with the rich history of the place and ecological awareness to create a unique atmosphere that is sure to enthrall every safari enthusiast.
A network of different projects, created by Marlies and Jörg together, intends to make the Momella region a sustainable environment for its people and natural resources. From here you venture with the professional service of “The African Embassy Safaris" on our various Safari “Hoppers” into Tanzania… and beyond! From lush green mountain rainforests surrounding craters, lakes and countless hills to the wide and open spaces of steppes and savannas, from acacia woodlands to lowland coastal forests, rivers and the turquoise colored Indian Ocean, USL “Hoppers” include safaris in all parts of Africa, by flight, jeep, boat and on foot.
We explore the unexplored – no well-trodden paths, no famous national parks; we do not follow the deep-rutted tracks of minibuses and Land Rovers and completely avoid big hotel chains with their impersonal atmosphere – our guests stay at unique, independent and privately owned camps and lodges. All our TAE Safari “Hoppers” include a stay at our fabulous Hatari Lodge and our exclusive Shu’mata Camp, where you will be able to have a closer look at some of the diverse projects of our MomellaFoundation.
About the Hatari Lodge: The Lodge is situated at the northern edge of Arusha National Park - the long forgotten secret - in the heart of Tanzania. Measuring roughly 300 square kilometres it combines within its boundaries the vast variety of many other parks in northern Tanzania: craters, lakes, savannah, plains and Africa’s 4th highest mountain! Now a ‘luxury bush hotel’ the lodge consists of three buildings beautifully situated in acacia woodland allowing breathtaking views onto the Momella meadow, rich with wildlife and across to the majestic Kilimanjaro.
Hatari offers nine comfortably furnished rooms, each with an open fireplace and a spacious bathroom. Every room has been lovingly furnished and decorated in a modern retro style. Giving tribute to the 60’s and 70’s – the era of ‘Hatari!’ The “Hatari Experience” can be enjoyed in many different ways.
Close encounters with wildlife on our game drives or the experience of the rich and diverse flora and fauna on a guided walk; An adventurous canoe trip or simply let the resident buffalo, giraffe and plenty other animals come to you as you relax on our game viewing platform. About Shu'mata Camp - part of the "Hatari"! experience: The Camp is located at the foot of Kilimanjaro, deep in Maasai land, in an area known as South Amboseli. Large East African tents, in true Hemingway style, line on a hill from which magnificent views lead in all directions. At the front of the camp bush savannah melts into the slopes of Kilimanjaro, towering above into the blue skies of Africa. So close that on a moonlit night details of the glaciers can be visible. Seasonally the surrounding savannah bush teems with wildlife - large herds of elephant, eland, zebra and wildebeest and Oryx as well as Grants and Thompson Gazelle. Six comfortable safari tents in the true Hemingway style. All with en-suite bathrooms, toilet, shower in colourful decorations of Maasai Art.
Each tent has its own veranda with up-lifting views. Outside, under the great African sky the open fireplace adds a true feeling of adventure and safari romance. A Hemingway whiskey blends in perfectly with the sounds of crickets, barking zebra and the distant roar of a lion. Shu'mata - dedicated to Amboseli's elephants: The elephants of Amboseli have a legendary story. This barren land, scattered with `islands´ of old acacia forest and seasonal swamps flank the pans of the `embosel´ ecosystem which stretches to the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.
It is this region, away from the busy tourism areas of northern Tanzania, where the elder elephants retreat to live out their final years – in peace and harmony and away from the madding crowds. On foot with Maasai warriors or in open-top game-drive vehicles we get within meters of Africa’s largest mammals. Timeless moments. Sensing the great peace and beauty of these magnificent creatures and calmly sharing the habitat with the Maasai and their cattle. A true and original part of Africa.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth. Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less travelled by, And that has made all the difference.

Over the last decade we have expanded our offerings to offer safari and beach holidays to the rest of Safari Africa though our new site at Africa Odyssey. Africa Odyssey unites our specialist interests and knowledge of Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Mozambique.
We also offer extensions to the Indian Ocean islands of Zanzibar, Mauritius and the Seychelles.
To help you make your choice about where to go we have listed and ranked every worthwhile lodge, and compiled our own personal videos and slideshows of each – please see our Lodge Library and Video Library
Our knowledge is our strength. Our MD, Marc Harris, is a director of the African Travel and Tourism Association and a judge of the Good Safari Guide. One of our consultants writes guide books to Tanzania, and as each member of the team continually revisits the continent all can all be described as genuine destination experts.
Efficient and Reliable, we pride ourselves on 'same day' email replies, we stay open late and are available throughout weekends for private presentations where one of us will talk you through the possibilities
Due to our long standing relationships in Africa our rates are as good as they get and we have a price match guarantee. As a result we do not put any surcharges on our trips, and are often under the prices clients receive from the lodges themselves.
We offer both Dollar and Sterling pricing for those wanting to take advantage of currency fluctuations
We are an ATOL bonded tour operator (ATOL 5397), which means that your holiday is protected. As well as being ATOL bonded, we provide our clients with a comprehensive service of care and enjoy the benefits of an invincible support network of ground contacts.

Wolwedans Collection - Namibia
Once the hunting ground of the Spotted Hyena, Wolwedans takes its name
from the African for "where the wolves dance". The very word conjures up
an aura of mystery and romance which, when visiting Wolwedans, nature
and the rhythm of the desert will evoke within you.
Nestled amidst the dunes in the heart of NamibRand Nature Reserve, and set against a backdrop of unparalleled beauty, Wolwedans provides the perfect base from which to explore vast stretches of awe-inspiring nature.
Across this diverse canvas of contrasting landscapes traverse an exciting variety of large and small desert creatures - as wild and ancient as their habitat. Our portfolio of camps provides ample opportunity to meet our guests` different expectations and preferred levels of comfort - be it the rustic Dune Camp, the more elaborate Dunes Lodge or the Wolwedans Private Camp. No matter where you opt to stay, warmth and personalised service - embraced by a commitment to care for guest and nature alike - are our hallmarks.
It is here, in this land of stretching blue skies, endless plains and countless creatures enacting nature`s savagely exciting passion play, that you will find beauty feeding your soul, tranquillity to clear your mind and space for your imagination to fly. Visit once, and you will long to return - that is a promise.
